A Letter from Me
By-Amber Rose

Hello from the desert

I am sending you this letter,
From 110-degree weather.
I can just think of how our driveway looks,
And the laughs we would get trying to shovel it.

My love, I miss you,
There is only 100 days left on this deployment.
More than anything I wish I was home with you,
Watching the kids face’s light up when they open there presents.
Yours as well my love.

I know this is hard,
I know the house is cold,
And I know you miss my touch.
But I am out here fighting for our country,
Through the days and the nights,
The countdown till Christmas is over
Now the countdown until I am in your arms once again begins.

Let’s not forget all the men and women who cannot come home for Christmas
while they are fighting for the people we love and care for
Don’t take the moments you have for granted.
Don’t forget to kiss and hug them all you can.
